Enough WIP

I guess this is where I can vent about this painting xD
TOO BAD I FORGOT WHAT I WANTED TO SAY...............
I'll... write this in the morning... it's like... 3 AM here....
*Narrator voice: MORE THAN 13 HOURS LATER...*

I'll just... tell you everything I did for each panel
SO starting left to right
In panel one that's when I drew out the lineart and scribbled in some color (I used a reference for the drawing, ALWAYS use references)
You guys will notice how I dont like... put down all the base color at once like most artists, that's because I like to do things part by part, the order I usually do it in is: Face (excluding eyes), lips, rest of the skin, clothing (if any), hair, background, accessories, eyes. I always save eyes for last because eyes are my favorite part and I like to save best for last C:
In the second panel I establish light source and do some basic shading and shaping.
In the third panel I do more shaping (I noticed that most of a painting process is shaping) I also completely finish the nose and ears I freakin' hate painting noses and ears.
Some advice: ALWAYS Do the things you hate first...
In the fourth panel I fill in the lips, arm, hand and I darkened the side of the face
I notice that a lot people think it's rather creepy how my paintings look like eye-less blank faces when they're not any lines .___. to me.. it's... SOOOO NORMAL. I could stare at an eyeless face for hours and hours and not realize there was no eyes (to be honest, I never knew it was "creepy" until people pointed it out, but i still am so comfortable with my unfinished paintings blank stares...)
In the fifth panel I finish the lips, shape out the eyes (fill in the eyes for the viewers sake), finish the eyebrows, and put in pores for the skin.
in the sixth panel I fill in the hair and............. *bursts into tears* I HATED DOING THE HAIR
Funny thing about the hair though
So me and were skyping the entire time I was painting this
and I kept asking her "ARE YOU SUUUUUURE I CAN'T SHAVE FELIX'S HEAD? AND DYE IT BLACK???" and She kept telling me that I'm a stud and that I can do it
After a long amount of time I start going insane and accusing Felix of hating me... and how Felix secretly wanted to kill me for creating him... HE WANTED TO PUNISH ME FOR CREATING HIM. HE WAS WORKING WITH THE BARRELS.
After I finished accusing everyone of ganging up on me and wanting to kill me, I deem the hair complete as seen in the seventh panel
In the eighth panel I realize that his hair is way too hair up his head and it makes him look like he's balding, So I move it down and color correct it (Felix has sandy blonde hair, not strawberry blonde)
The only problem with moving it down is that I have all that blank space above his head... and there was no way in hell I was gonna draw more hair... so i crop it......
I WORKED SO HARD ON THAT EAR... I WAS SO PROUD OF IT.... AND AND FELIX'S HAIR..... BAH. I KNEW IT... FELIX DOES HATE ME.......
In the ninth panel I add the background and some water drops, make him look more moist, and gave him a bit of a trim.
In the last panel I paint in the eye which I love oh so much
then I beat up Felix because of all the bullshit his hair gave me.......
Aaaaand yeah
I forgot Felix's earring until as I was submitting the actual piece xD that explains why in this particular WIP he doesn't have an earring
